This ancient variety originates from Tyrol, Austria. It is characterised by the brown speckles you see on the leaves. The name refers to a trout, which also has similar speckles. Tasty romaine lettuce.
Sowing instructions
Lettuce has very small seeds and is a light germinator for this reason. So you sow the seeds shallowly, without covering them with a layer of soil. Press lightly so there is contact with the substrate and keep moist, but not wet. Lettuce sprouts quickly, after just a few days.
