Helianthus annuus 'Taiyo'

Traditional yellow sunflower, with a dark brown/black heart. Does not branch very much, but will reward you with a large flower. Very attractive to bees, bumblebees and butterflies, also suitable for picking.

Sowing instructions
Sunflowers are easy to germinate. They are dark germinators, so you can push the seeds a little into the ground, so that they are covered with some soil. Keep the soil moist, but not wet. You can pre-sow them in trays or pots, but you can also just sow them outside from the end of April and the beginning of May. Tip: alternate the sowing periods. Sow some in May, some in June and finally one last time in July. Then you will have flowers all summer long, until the night frost makes its entrance.
