Climate-resistant plants
Nowadays there is a lot of talk about climate-resistant plants. And with good reason of course, because these plants are often stronger and more resistant to drought or extreme rainfall. But everything actually starts with analysing your own environment. Think locally. Make sure that you adapt the plants in your garden to the environment in which you live. If you have sandy soil, it will be a big challenge for your plants to survive during extremely dry periods. If you live near a forest or there is more shade, you will also have to adapt those plants to that specific location. Choose native plants and make sure that they do exactly what the immediate environment expects of them. On dry sandy soil you can then choose ornamental grasses and prairie flowers. Echinacea is suitable, but Achillea, Agastache and Gaura or Verbena and Perovskia are also recommended. In wooded areas you can plant a lot of shade-loving ground covers and shrubs. Every environment is different , try not to expect your plants to do well everywhere. This prevents a lot of problems when making a planting plan. Climate-proof plants.

A climate-proof garden as a habitat for animals
In a sustainable and climate-proof garden, the animals are in charge. By making your garden so animal-friendly that birds come to nest or stay there, that hedgehogs choose their hiding place there and that useful insects hide, you ensure fewer pests and a vibrant ecosystem . Plant layered plants, provide shrubs, trees and changing flowering periods for the perennials in your garden. This benefits bees, bumblebees and butterflies, but also birds that can hide more easily and have sufficient food available in this way. Be creative and make decisions based on the animals that live in it. Avoid chemical products again and choose ecological and organic , everyone benefits from that.
