This annual delphinium is not the easiest germinator. In fact, the seeds need a cold period (stratification) to germinate. If you want to pre-sow, it is recommended to first put the seeds in the freezer for a few days. Then spread the seeds superficially over the soil (Delphinium is a light germinator), then press lightly to make good contact with the substrate. Keep moist, but not wet. It takes a while for the first seeds to germinate; don't give up right away.
