Good for pollinators

Closed dahlias have nothing for pollinators like bees and bumblebees. But the open types, also known as single flowers, are fantastic for them. They can extract pollen and nectar from these: this results in a whole summer of coming and going. Even butterflies use their long tongues to feed from the flowers.
