This Mexican cucumber grows fine outdoors and needs a rack to climb against. The small fruits look just like mini watermelons. The flavor is reminiscent of cucumber with a hint of acidity. Try to harvest early, when the fruits are softest. Larger ones are slightly harder and therefore often suitable for pickling earlier.

    Sowing Instructions
Cucamelons or mouse melons need heat to germinate. It is a dark germinator, so the seeds may be slightly covered with soil. Keep moist, but not wet, as this can encourage mold. Cucamelon germinates quite smoothly at the right temperature, but remains small for a long time afterwards. Only when they stand in place for a while do they really shoot up.
