Thai basil
This variety has purple stems and glossy green leaves. It has an aniseed-like flavour and is often used in Asian dishes. Thai basil is tough and can therefore be grown outdoors.
Sowing instructions
Basil has very small seeds and is a light germinator for this reason. So you better not cover the seeds with a layer of soil. Sow the seeds shallowly and press lightly. Keep the soil moist, but not wet. Basil needs heat. So sow indoors in a bright spot, or when it is warm enough in the greenhouse.
