Alchemilla is not the easiest germinator, but there are tricks to help it along. To start with, it is a light germinator, which means that you should not cover the seeds with a layer of soil. Spread the seeds superficially over the soil, press lightly and keep moist, but not wet. First place the seed tray in a warm place for a week, after which you put the tray in the refrigerator for a week. Then you put the seeds a bit warmer again and only then will they start to germinate. You can also sow in the open ground in the autumn, so that a period of frost can pass first, before the seeds finally start to germinate in the spring.
