The Roman Empire was the inspiration for this beautiful "Emilia", with the characteristic rope gently resting on the rim of this tall, slender pot. Since the 1800s, the Italian city of Modena in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy has been known for producing this type of decorative rope for various ornamental purposes.
An original design by Bergs Potter and made in Tuscany: "Emilia" is a tribute to the region and the use of age-old techniques.

Each pot is handmade and comes with a matching saucer, which has been specially treated to be non-porous and can therefore be used indoors. Each pot is fired at high temperatures, making it frost-resistant.
