An exciting moment is just around the corner: the launch of our new seed collection. We've been busy for several months choosing and selecting a wide variety of species. Some old favorites are making a return, and many new varieties are being introduced. There's something for everyone! In this blog post, we'd love to take you through the process with our packager and give you a behind-the-scenes look.
The composition of our seed collection
In June, we started selecting the different types of flowers and vegetables. Which varieties or colors did we miss last season? Are there certain vegetables we didn't yet have in our assortment? Based on this, we added various types so we can offer a beautiful and extensive collection again.

We establish contacts with our growers and see which varieties we can purchase. Is there sufficient supply, are there different colors and varieties in the assortment, and is the supply tailored to our wishes? Then we get to work designing the seed packets.
Why choose our seeds?
Our seeds are untreated and unsprayed. Our entire vegetable collection is even organic, allowing you to sow and garden with peace of mind. Our collection of organic flower seeds is also continually growing.
Our seed packets are made from recycled paper based on tomato fibers. A fun alternative that not only looks nice but is also less burdensome on the environment.
Nothing wrong with a classic yellow sunflower, but we like to provide special features in the flower and vegetable garden. A special color, an unusual flower shape, or an unknown variety: you'll find them in our webshop.
We are convinced that everyone can sow. That's why we make the information on our seed packets as comprehensive as possible. Light germinator or dark germinator, sowing and harvesting months, and brief instructions: everything is listed on the packaging.
Our favorite seed varieties from the new collection
There are certain varieties that have stolen our hearts. Certain flowers we always want to sow again and vegetables that should never be missing from the garden. We gladly list the flower seeds that should never be absent from our garden.
- Cosmos or cosmos. The classic in the cutting garden that is truly inexhaustible. Available in different colors, and some varieties can even be grown in pots.
- Calendula or marigold. A cut flower that stays somewhat smaller, making it the ideal addition for planting in pots or placing at the front of the border. Available in various color variations.
- Helianthus or sunflower. A classic in the garden. Forget the classic yellow flowers; sunflowers now come in an incredible array of color shades, flower shapes, and sizes.
- Lathyrus or sweet pea. This fragrant climber is very easy to sow. It germinates quickly and produces beautiful, elegant flowers with a delightful scent.
- Antirrhinum or snapdragons. Admittedly, snapdragons aren't the easiest to sow. The seeds are so fine, and germination can take a while. But it's always worth the wait, as the blooms are truly stunning. A wonderful addition to the cutting garden.

The packaging process of the seeds
Once the seeds are selected and ordered, the next phase begins: designing the seed packets. Is the illustration in order and clear enough, what are the sowing instructions, and does everything fit on the packet? We find it very important that all information is centrally mentioned. This way, you don't have to search for the sowing instructions and can successfully sow your favorite flowers or vegetables.

If the design is completely in order, everything can go to the printer. After this, our packer comes into play. Meanwhile, the packer has received all the seeds and the packaging. The seed packets arrive printed on a large roll of tomato paper, directly to the packer. Our packer cuts the packets to size, glues them together, and ensures the packets are perfect for filling. There are also interim checks: do the colors of the seed packets match? Is everything in order in terms of size? And have enough seed packets been delivered?
Now the real precision work begins: weighing and correctly packaging the seeds. The seeds are weighed or counted, depending on their size. After all, some seeds are very large, like sunflower seeds. At the same time, there are seeds that are minuscule, almost like dust. With each seed change, the machines must be thoroughly cleaned to ensure no incorrect types are packaged.
Once the seeds are checked and counted, the filling of the packets can begin. A special machine keeps the packets open with air. The filling machine drops the correct number of seeds into the packet, and the packets are filled this way.
Finally, the packets are sealed. This allows the seeds to be preserved without losing their germination power. The seeds are packed by type to be sent to our warehouse, and then we lovingly package them for you, our customers!
Thank you!
We hope that with this blog post, you've gained a clear picture of the process behind our seed collection. Behind those small seed packets lie weeks and months of work, and we are very proud to present the new collection to the world. We also hold our growers in high regard. Without them, there would be no seed collection. We hope you rediscover old favorites and uncover new gems. We wish you lots of sowing and gardening joy!
