Pumpkin 'Butternut Waltham'
This butternut squash is open-pollinated, as the English say so nicely. Very tasty flavour and medium to large fruits. Ideal for storage, the flavour even improves if you leave the fruit.
Sowing instructions
Pumpkins are dark germinators and should be put into the soil about 3 centimetres deep. Keep the soil moist, but not wet. Pre-sow in pots, leave them in them as they do not like to be transplanted. Or sow them directly in the garden after the frosts. Watch out for snails, they eat the young plants.
