Scabiosa atropurpurea 'Sommerfrüchte'

A mix of pink and dark red scabiosa that float in the wind. Very good garden plant because of its success with pollinators, but also a great cut flower.

Scabiosa or pigeon herb is a light germinator. So you do not cover the seeds with a layer of soil. Place the seeds, which are like small badminton feathers, on the soil, press lightly and water. Keep the soil moist, but not wet. Sow in pots or seed trays, or sow directly in the open ground. Scabiosa germinates after an average of 7 to 10 days in the right conditions.
