Alcea rosea 'Frühlings-Promi-Aprikose'

Low growing, semi-double hollyhock that produces flowers in the first year. Nice apricot colour and handy height if you garden in pots.

Annual hollyhock is sown in early spring, so that you will see flowers that same year. Hollyhock is a light germinator. It is therefore better not to cover the seeds with a layer of soil. Instead, you place the seeds superficially, you press lightly, so that there is contact with the subsoil and you ensure that the soil remains moist - not wet. Give the seeds some time, they take an average of 2 to 3 weeks to germinate.
